What is Bahamas Weather Like?

When traveling to the Bahamas it helps to get a good idea of what the Bahamas weather is going to be like. The weather here is like many other types of Caribbean climate in that it is enjoyable throughout the entire year. It can be unpredictable and windy at times though.

The Bahamas are located from the Eastern part of Florida to the Caribbean. Regardless of the long chain that these seven hundred islands are located on they have a Caribbean climate that is very similar throughout. The average temperatures are consistent throughout the area thanks to the warm temperatures of the waters in the nearby Gulf Stream. The North American cold air system makes an impact at times too.

The average temperature is around the same throughout the entire year. During the summer months the average temperature when traveling to the Bahamas will be from eighty to ninety degrees Fahrenheit (27 to 32 Celsius). In the winter months the weather will be around seventy to eighty degrees Fahrenheit. The northern area of the Bahamas will be a little cooler at times. The winds through the islands here will help the areas to keep cool during the daytime in the holiday seasons and can help to lower temperatures at night.

The weather can be unpredictable though. That is because the Bahamas are located in the Hurricane Belt in the Atlantic Ocean area. Many storms will tend to blow through the area and create high winds and rain. Many hurricanes and tropical storms will form and circle under the Bahamas before heading north en route to the United States or Mexico. Fortunately, the buildings throughout the Bahamas are well prepared for any hurricanes that may come through.

Hurricane detection technology is also very well equipped to help find growing tropical activities as they form. The season lasts from June to November, so this makes for a long hurricane season, but with the technology used to help find and prepare for hurricanes there is no need to cancel any travel plans out of fear.

The International Airport of Nassau will have full climatological dates for people to see when they get to the Bahamas. This is a listing of climates throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean climates throughout the entire year. It shows which islands are generally dryer and which ones have weather that is uniform throughout the year. It helps for the preparation that is needed when getting to the islands.

That's a look at the Bahamas weather. Traveling to the Bahamas is exciting and can be fun, but the weather can be different at all times of the year and even unpredictable at times. It helps to be prepared for a trip so that the Caribbean climate in the area can be well handled.
